“There’s nothing that we’re not going to explore about looking at our footprint and the environment,” said Hole.
Hole has been working with the University of Alberta and its school of energy and environment on a co-operative project to make the greenhouse even more environmentally friendly.
By 2012, the Holes want their business to be totally green, to the point that natural bacterias and insect predators will be used in the greenhouse rather than chemical herbicides.
The Holes believe the greenhouse structure, to be designed by renowned Dutch architect Ernst von Meijenfeldt, will be a world-class building and tourist attraction due to its attention to green detail and mix of amenities.

Hole’s Greenhouse and Gardens will relocate to South Riel on a 10-acre parcel of land directly east of the future site of the Interpretive Centre in the Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park.
